In our industry, it’s vital to be responsible and mindful of the affect our work can have on the environment. So at Arval, we’re always looking at ways we can reduce, reuse, recycle and minimise our carbon footprint, as well as helping our customers be more environmentally-friendly.
As a vehicle leasing company with a fleet of over 165,000 vehicles in the UK, we offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles so that our customers, their drivers and our employees can choose vehicles which limit their environmental impact whilst still meeting their needs. Over the last year we have seen a steady increase in the number of diverse technology vehicles being adopted by fleets and drivers alike, all helping to lessen the impact on the environment.
We’re at the forefront of diverse vehicle technologies - including leading on initiatives like The Hydrogen Hub, the UK’s largest hydrogen vehicle trial. As part of this, we’re using hydrogen cars ourselves and leasing some to local customers. This gives us the edge when it comes to understanding this innovative, zero carbon technology – knowledge we can use to help our customers and lower our environmental impact. We want to inspire vehicle users of the future and are actively using our work in the hydrogen vehicle world to educate our customers and the wider community.
But it’s not just about the big picture. Little things can have a big impact too. That’s why we promote ‘Reduce, Recycle and Reuse’ at all our sites, focusing on eliminating single use plastics, starting with plastic drinking cups and slashing the amount of paper we use.
We’re delighted that we’ve retained our ISO 14001 certification this year. This environmental management standard makes sure we have effective environmental systems and policies in place and we manage and monitor our environmental impact.
And all three Arval UK sites now use energy from a renewable energy supplier, further reducing our footprint.
