WHAT'S THE ARVAL MOBILITY OBSERVATORY FLEET BAROMETER REPORT?

The Arval Mobility Observatory (AMO) annual Fleet Barometer studies, analyses and interprets developments in mobility, based on in-depth interviews with more than 8,600 key decision-makers in 30 countries across a wide range of sectors. The people we speak to are responsible for anything from one company vehicle to fleets in the thousands, giving us insight into what’s happening in mobility across the whole business spectrum. We then break down this information into a number of key trends and findings for the UK, including electrification, vehicle shortages and salary sacrifice.

WHAT ARE THE KEY FINDINGS FROM THE 2023 ARVAL MOBILITY OBSERVATORY RESEARCH?

UK Fleets expect to expand

Almost a third (29%) say car and van numbers will rise over the next three years, with business growth being the biggest driver.

Vehicle shortages led to unexpected benefits

More than half (51%) of fleets who have hit been hit by supply issues say it has prompted them to speed up electrification.

Salary sacrifice is set for further growth

One in five companies with an awareness of mobility solutions now offer a “sal sac” arrangement and within three years, that is predicted to double.

Fleet electrification is happening quickly

By 2026, 38% of passenger cars on fleet are expected to be 100% battery electric and, if you add hybrids, the proportion climbs to more than half.

Charging at work is increasing rapidly

Currently, fewer than 2 in 10 businesses with electric vehicles offer chargers on their premises but by the end of the year, this is expected to have reached 4 in 10.
