Head of Collections – Swindon / Hybrid

About the role
This challenging role is all about providing complete Senior Management oversight of all Collections activities across Retail and Corporate Channels. It also forms an important part of the leadership and ongoing development within our Global Operations team, sharing accountability for overall strategy.
In this post, you will have ongoing accountability for the design and implementation of short, medium and long term plans to ensure that Collections activities meet both customer needs and regulatory requirements, whilst achieving agreed business objectives. One of your primary objectives will be securing good customer outcomes.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maximising the effectiveness and efficiency of your team, systems, outsourced partners, balances and processes with a specific focus on cash flow, debt queries and bad debt risk
To be successful in this role, you will divide your time between thinking and operating at a strategic level whilst overseeing an operational element, all the while driving a culture of continuous improvement. You will anticipate and respond to changes in the customer and supplier environment and look for opportunities to innovate and so exceed customer expectations.

Basic salary range is £70,000 to £85,000 + £15,000 bonus & company car (or £6.5k cash allowance).

About You
To be considered for this exciting role you will need to demonstrate success in a similar role gained within a regulated Financial Services environment. You will be able to evidence sound Leadership skills and give robust examples where you have used your commercial and strategic capabilities to great success. We are particularly interested in someone who has driven change through teams and implemented efficiencies and new tools.
You will be an excellent communicator who is competent and credible to Director Level with a charm that will see you able to negotiate your way around stakeholders whilst remaining completely customer focused. In particular, you will need to develop long lasting relationships with our Risk, Operational Permanent control and Compliance teams.
Robust and resilient by nature, you will be familiar and comfortable with the high levels of scrutiny this role attracts given the regulatory landscape we find ourselves in today.
Key Skills required:
· Vigorous Collections experience gained in a Financial Services environment
· Proven Leadership and change management qualities
· Results driven whilst keeping customer focused at all times
· Advanced internal stakeholder and outsourced supplier management skills
· Strong analytical and organisational skills
