Learning and Development Specialist

About the role

We are super delighted and haven’t stopped celebrating that we have a new mum-to-be in our midst – but, this means we have a coveted role in an awesome team we’re looking to fill.

Within your grasp, just a couple of clicks (and an interview or two) away is your moment to shine and join an award winning, all singing all dancing Organisational Development team.

Our Learning and Development Team have been working hard to put social learning on the map and evolve our learning culture to meet the needs of our future world. We’re extremely proud of our Employee Brand (we’re all Journey Makers!) and we’ve built an ambitious Learning and Development strategy that will help our People thrive. The last 12 months have changed many things, so we’re diving right into delivering training solutions to cover every possible learning style – and topic – in every possible format we can think of.

We’re focussing heavily on an analytics and data led approach, where we place Value of Investment in front of Return on Investment for our learning strategy.  We’re driving a focus on Talent and internal development, readying our Journey Makers for the future of work.

So, if you want to join our gang of industry experts, you will need to be adept at a host of things!

Are you fully conversant in creating training reports, doing data analysis with an eagle-style eye for detail? Have you experience in uploading content in SCORM e-learning platforms? Are you familiar with LMS tools and Learner Experience? Can you write digital content using the likes of Articulate360? Maybe you are a whizz using Sharepoint and know you way around Office365?

Is managing Talent programmes is your thing? Developing and supporting our Journey Makers to become the Leaders of the future?

You will also be expected to be an engaging facilitator and trainer – able to work with demanding stakeholders, a wide variety of learners and wow everyone with your superb approach to delivery. And, lets not forget a few more bits – you will need to be comfortable to deliver training in virtual classrooms as well as physical spaces (when we are allowed to of course). Hopefully you are not shy either, and will happily be a star on video, podcast or in short learning films which we can host on our dedicated platforms.

We operate a true business partner model – we’re might not necessarily be the experts on the subject matter, but we are pretty awesome at delivery, training needs analysis and creating learning solutions that exceed the hopes and dreams of many. Quite often, including our own!

£35-40,000 salary range plus superb benefits.

This role is eligible for Hybrid working (up to 2 days working from home per week)

About You

Not shy to share your thoughts in a constructive fashion, you will be comfortable in a corporate environment and will understand the complexities of working for a matrix style organisation. You will welcome ownership and accountability, be creative and solution focussed. Above all, you must love delivering exceptional customer service. Going the extra mile is what you live for!

You will have experience in creating content and perhaps managing Talent programme – and can hold a room of senior leaders in the palm of your hand, all waiting with anticipation to hear your pearls of wisdom.

Already qualified, or studying your CIPD or equivalent, with a background in HR, Organisational Development or L&D, you will need to conceptually “get it”. Reciting theory is one thing – but you will be well on your way to bringing this theory to practical, operational life in a fast paced, no nonsense, customer centric organisation.

It would be nice if you understand the world of Governance and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and have had some exposure to SM&CR regime. No matter if you haven’t – you’ll just need to be a fast learner…

Application process

Applicants invited to the next stage will complete an online video screen. This way, you can tell us all about yourself, before we shortlist who to select for interview. You will be able to do this on your mobile phone, tablet or laptop 24/7, giving you complete flexibility. Full instructions and a Hints & Tips video will follow.

What’s in it for you?

Culturally, we are a friendly bunch - more human, than corporate. We expect a lot but know that works both ways so offer our Journey Makers a fantastic employee experience end to end.

All our offices are welcoming and refreshed to reflect our new ways of working in a post-COVID, forward thinking digital and hybrid setting. You will be given the perfect environment to do your work to the highest standards possible, as well as the opportunities to develop your own career.

You will be joining a family – where, together, we are all pushing the limits of what’s possible for our customers and for each other. We’re an excellent mix of new and longer serving Journey Makers, all working together to constantly improve the service we offer all our customers. Sharing experience, ideas and creative solutions is what we do best.

Being owned by a bank (BNP Paribas), not only are we part of global brand making a positive difference to the World, but we all benefit from some excellent perks.

This is a Pay Zone B1 role with an annual salary range of £35,000 to £40,000 (DoE), and an annual bonus of up to £1,725. You will also enjoy the standard benefits like Private Healthcare (AXA PPP), Life Assurance, a great Company Pension scheme, a range of personal flexible benefits, as well as the usual 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), and access to great discounts on our products and services.

We’re also proud that we can offer you things that money just can’t buy:

  • Progressive career development opportunities through our dedicated Learning and Development team. Check out our approach to learning here on our Dare2Discover intro film!
  • Many opportunities to participate in CSR and Climate Sustainability action
  • A huge range of volunteering days (we actively encourage our people to volunteer and participate in charity work)
  • Hybrid working options (working in the office / at home or a remote location that suits your personal circumstance)
  • Access to first class Mental Health support (onsite through our amazing MH First Aiders or through our dedicated MH support line)
  • An array of Talent Development opportunities local (UK) and globally within Arval Group / BNP Paribas
  • And an employee culture that is focussed on creating a great place to work for all our Journey Makers – whether you are here for a temporary stay or with us for a lifetime

We are proud to celebrate the diverse nature of our customers and our hugely diverse teams, where everyone feels safe to be their authentic self. We support all our local communities and groups and actively encourage people from underrepresented backgrounds to apply to become part of our family. We do not discriminate based on race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, marital status, disability or age – or any other category you can think of, and we have a strong “speak up” culture through which we support and ally with all group our Journey Makers identify with.

We are a family-friendly employer with a culture based on trust, autonomy and flexibility and believe everyone has a voice and the opportunity to make an impact.

Here’s a recent video we put together that shows life at Arval: The Journey Makers
