About the role
With over 190,000 vehicles in our fleet, effective Accident Management is integral to keeping our customers moving. When a vehicle is involved in an incident or accident, it’s booked in with one of our approved garages or repair centres to assess the damage and carry out repairs.
As an in-house Accident Management Engineer, you’ll use your expert knowledge vehicle damage and repairs to review and approve quotations, ensuring the repairs proposed are appropriate, and the work is carried out to a high standard within a reasonable timeframe and budget. You’ll also identify when repairs are uneconomical and initiate the total loss procedure instead.
This is a desk-based role, where you won’t be dealing with customers directly with flexible hybrid working from whichever one of our 3 UK locations is most conveniently located for you – Manchester, Solihull, or Swindon.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Communicating with a variety of stakeholders, from Fleet Managers to our approved repair network, and insurance companies
- As it is Important our customers are updated, with the work is conducted to agreed time scales and standards
- Using your vehicle knowledge to maximum effect
- Be responsible for your cases and be proactive to find the solution
What we’re looking for
Most importantly, you have a good understanding of vehicle accident management and damage assessment and repair. Your technical knowledge means that you know when a quotation is recommending the right work, at the right price and you’re capable of challenging when things don’t look right.
We’re also looking for:
- Experience of using Audatex
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle repairs
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
Relevant certifications are also highly desirable – such as the Code of Salvage Practice AQP or the VDA/ATA.
The package
We offer a basic starting salary of up to £38,000, plus a bonus of up to £1,100. We also offer 25 days holiday as standard, plus bank holidays, an extra day off for your birthday, and the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
We will put you through the Code of Salvage Practice AQP certification and VDA/ATA award, if needed and cover any renewal costs.
