Risk & Control Manager (Operational Permanent Controller)

 

About the role

This is a 1st line of defence risk role in a dynamic financial services organisation.  You will act as a business partner for a number of divisions; working closely with Directors, their management teams and operational specialists to help them deliver business strategy in a safe, secure and risk aware manner.

 

As part of the BNP Paribas Group, Arval has a strong operational risk framework and the 1st line of  defence risk & control team plays a key part in its operation - ensuring we have a well understood, well embedded and effective framework in place to identify, assess, manage and report risks, incidents and controls. 

 

Although this may seem like a fairly standard risk & control role in a UK financial services corporate organisation… it’s not!  1st line risk management is going through a growth phase in the business, in part led by management but also driven by a systems & methodology transformation across BNP Paribas – So there is real opportunity take ownership and add value, within the team and with business stakeholders.  Arval has a flat structure, empowers its people and rewards people that are proactive and can get the job done.

This role is eligible for Hybrid working (up to 2 days working from home per week).

 

Salary range: £40-50,000 plus £4,600 bonus, Car (or £5,500pa cash allowance) & superb benefits

About You

Not shy to share your thoughts in a confident & constructive fashion, you will be comfortable in a corporate environment and will understand the complexities of working for a matrix style organisation. You will welcome ownership and accountability, be creative and solution focussed.

 

You will need to; be experienced in implementing risk & control frameworks in a complex operating environment, have worked in a regulated business (ideally FCA/PRA) and enjoy managing risks arising from the usual suspects of manual process, 3rd party suppliers and IT…

 

Strong relationship and business partnering skills that enable you to influence to director level are important.  Naturally resilient, you will also be highly organised, analytical and experienced in project work, with an undeterred focus to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely fashion.

The salary range for this role is £40-50,000 along with an annual bonus of up to £4,600 and the choice of a fully maintained Company Car (or annual cash allowance of £5,500 pa).
