Hiring process

The hiring process
What to expect when you apply
We want your application journey to feel clear, fair and human. Here's what usually happens when you apply for a role with Arval UK, from submitting your application to interview feedback.
Apply online
Once you've found a role you'd like to apply for, select the apply button and you'll be taken to the BNP Paribas careers site to submit your application.
Your application is reviewed
We'll check your application against the basic criteria first, such as location and right to work. A member of our Talent Acquisition team will then review your CV.
We get to know you
If you're selected, we'll invite you to an initial telephone interview with one of our Talent Acquisition team. They'll tell you more about Arval and the role and take time to get to know you a little better.
If you're shortlisted after the telephone interview, we'll invite you to interview, usually at one of our offices in Swindon, Solihull or Manchester. Many roles have a one-stage interview process. If there are more stages, your recruiter will explain what to expect, and this will usually be included in the job advert too.
If your interview doesn't result in a job offer, we'll email you with the option to book a feedback call. Your recruiter will share feedback with you and let you know if there are any other suitable roles available.
A human process, not an AI decision
At Arval UK, we don't use AI to make decisions or judgements about people. Your CV is reviewed by a human and you'll be interviewed by humans. We're a relationship-driven business, and that personal touch is important to us.
Preparing well helps
Before your interview, take time to read our website and understand the role you've applied for. It's also useful to think about specific examples where you've demonstrated the behaviours needed for the role.
STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action and Result. It's a simple way to structure your interview examples: explain the situation you were in, the task or challenge you needed to deal with, the action you personally took and the result or impact of what you did.
