Part of the South Korean Hyundai group, Kia arrived in the UK in 1991. With a reputation for building practical, affordable cars – backed up by the famous 7-year warranty across the range – in recent years Kia has made efforts to move from being seen as a budget manufacturer towards the premium end of the market. With an impressive range of vehicles spanning fun city cars right up to large SUVs, there’s a Kia to suit every lifestyle and budget.

Kia has a range of hatchbacks to choose from – from the nimble Picanto city car and slightly larger Rio supermini, to the mini-MPV Venga which offers a bit more headroom. The mid-size Ceed hatchback is one of the most popular vehicles in the range and also comes as an estate (Ceed Sportswagon), while the stylish ProCeed estate proves you really can have it all with coupé good looks and sportier handling as well as huge amounts of luggage space. The Optima is a practical 4-door saloon that’s also available as an estate (Sportswagon) for those needing more room, while the Stinger is Kia’s executive saloon, combining the practicality of a family car with distinctive coupé styling.

If you are looking for an SUV, then Kia could provide the answer. The Stonic is Kia’s eye-catching small urban crossover, while the hugely popular Sportage combines space, versatility and practicality with a slick design. At the top of the range, the large Sorento SUV offers intelligent all-wheel drive as well as having seven seats. For a more environmentally friendly option, the stylish Niro compact crossover is available as a plug-in or self-charging hybrid, and there’s even a fully electric version offering zero driving emissions. And that’s not all. The ‘mild hybrid’ Sportage model combines a conventional engine with a small battery that increases engine downtime leading to lower emissions.
