Deliveries of new cars to drivers by Arval UK fell by just 2% in 2021 compared to the previous year, despite supply issues affecting the motor industry, the company is reporting.

 

Although vehicle supply is still far from pre-pandemic levels, Paul Hyne, Commercial Director, Arval UK explained that the shortfalls are being managed by working closely with fleets and drivers to ensure that their needs are met, while partnering with manufacturers to forward order vehicles, to help manage the impact of supply challenges.

Van fleets not already planning for the arrival of electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) should use 2022 to set out how to successfully integrate them into their operations, says Arval UK.

The sustainable fleet and mobility company says that availability of these vehicles is likely to remain constrained next year. Therefore, companies which have a clearer plan of their future requirements will be in a better position to place vehicle orders and help secure supply.

Paints and performance coatings company, Akzo Nobel UK, has made “immediate and significant” improvements to accident rates and repair processes on its 700 vehicle mixed car and van UK fleet.

 

The company signed up to Arval UK’s Arval Total Care product, created as a simple and inclusive package consisting of a vehicle insurance and an accident management solution for businesses, with a simple pricing structure based on a charge per vehicle.

 

VOLVO ELECTRIFIES ITS FLEET USING WHOLE LIFE COSTS

Volvo Group has adopted a whole life cost (WLC) based method of constructing fleet choice lists, based on advice from Arval UK consultants, as it moves to electrify its company car fleet.

 

The worldwide supplier of commercial transport and infrastructure solutions, providing products such as trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as drive systems for marine and industrial applications, operates 450 cars in the UK.

Vodafone UK has set a target of eliminating carbon emissions from its 1,355-strong car and van fleet by 2027, the company told a webinar held by its fleet management partner, Arval UK.

 

The move is in line with a corporate commitment from the technology communications giant, and will see it beat the government’s 2030 plan to halt the production of new diesel and petrol engine cars and vans by three years.

What is believed to be the UK’s first product that enables employers to offer leased, zero-emission e-Bikes to their staff has been unveiled as the COP26 summit is underway in Glasgow.

Initially offered through a group of 20 employers with which Arval already has employee car leasing schemes in place, the sustainable mobility provider has adapted its personal contract hire scheme to enable e-Bikes to be leased too. It’s also available for Arval’s own employees, so that they can get first hand experience to share with customers. .
