About WB Power Solution

Founded in 1983 and based in Derbyshire, WBPS is a family-owned provider of critical power solutions. The company provides generator hire and maintenance across the UK to customers where a loss of power is not an option; including military sites, hospitals, data centres and outdoor events.

As the business has grown, so has the pressure on its fleet and, at the same time, on the people trying to manage it alongside everything else.

The challenge: When fleet takes more focus than it should

With 300 vehicles on the road (comprising around 200 LCVs and 100 cars at the time) the WBPS team had reached a tipping point.

The result? A diverse fleet of different makes, models and ages. It was unnecessarily complex to manage and increasingly harder to maintain: a combination that pulled time and energy away from the company’s core mission: keeping customers powered up.

Aged vehicles meant increased risk of breakdowns. And the daily demands of fleet management had become a time sink that Chris and his team didn’t need. It was time to talk to Arval.
